Lincolnshire Sleep School

Due to ongoing changes within NHS England and Lincolnshire ICB, the decision has been taken to pause online educational sessions being held by the Opioids for Non-Cancer Pain CRG. This affects Lincolnshire Empowered Relief, Lincolnshire Virtual Pain Café, Lincolnshire Sleep School and Lincolnshire Eating for Pain.

We apologise to anyone who has been signposted to these sessions or was otherwise looking forward to them. Further information will be posted here, as it is made available. Please continue to use the online resources and links available on the Lincolnshire Pain Star website.

We hope that sessions will resume in the near future.

Lincolnshire Sleep School is a 3-session online educational resource which introduces patients to the principles of sleep science and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi). CBTi is the first line therapy for insomnia and thought to be effective for 3 in every 4 people, including those with moderate to severe insomnia. Sleeping difficulties are extremely prevalent in people living with chronic pain. Despite this, access to simple advice, education and resources, is often lacking. For this reason, Lincolnshire Opioids for Non-Cancer Pain created this resource, to support our patient in Lincolnshire to learn about sleep, develop self-management strategies and get sleeping better.

The sessions are not designed as a treatment in themselves, but a resource through which people can learn and develop evidenced-based self-help strategies. Lincolnshire Sleep School also includes signposting to other well-known resources, so that people can learn more if they wish.

Updated July 2nd 2025 - There are currently no planned dates for sleep school, once these have been booked they will be posted here.
