Controlled Drugs

It is a CQC requirement that all GP practices have systems in place to ensure the safe management of controlled drugs (CDs). One of the statements includes that each practice should have clear, written standard operating procedures (SOPs) covering all aspects of CD management that are known, understood and followed by all relevant staff. The SOPs should cover the ordering, storing, administering, recording and destruction of CDs.

Here you will find some guidance and template SOPs that you can download and adapt to fit your practice needs, these are templates so must be adapted for your individual practice before using and are offered only as a guide.
